Composite WPC decking installer

I am local to St Ives Cornwall, a City and Guilds qualified carpenter and a Millboard approved decking installer with 10 years building experience designing, constructing and installing raised decking. Composite decking has come along way now and with the introduction of enhanced grain or timber effects, looks stunning but most importantly gives a non slip and very low maintenance option.

Composite decking comes in many forms but essentially is a combination of plastic with wood fibres formed into a mould giving a wood effect with colour options. I have accounts with pretty much all composite decking providers to suit your budget and can arrange for samples to be sent directly to you FOC.

THE APPEAL

  • Virtually maintenance-free over it’s long lifespan.
  • Doesn’t need to be sanded, refinished, or stained.
  • A simple scrubbing now and again with warm, soapy water will remove most dirt build-up.
  •  A diluted bleach solution will kill mould and mildew that can grow in damp, shaded decking areas

SAVE MONEY
Many companies suggest to use a composite framework for that 25 year longevity but the reality is that a well constructed tanalised wood framework with adeguate ventilation lasts a good 10 to 15 years. Combine a tanalised subframe with a composite top deck and not only will you save on your overall project cost but get that all important non slippy decking with low maintenace needs for a long time.

BENEFITS v BUDGET
Yes a composite decking project will cost maybe twice as much in materials as a tanalised soft wood decking project but when you work out the time saved over 10 to 15 years enjoying as opposed to maintaining your decked area, not sliding but gliding around in the winter months, it looks pretty damn good all the time and will proabably add value to your property should you sell.

Its a no brainer!

  • Time saved maintaining year in year out.
  • Glide dont slide.
  • All year round use.
  • Adds value to your property.
  • Adds colour and light.

SUMMARY

  • Composite is ECO friendly.
  • Very low maintenance.
  • Composite is non slippy throughout the year.
  • Expect to pay £50 to £120/m² for decking boards.
  • Composite comes as Hollowtek, solid, flat or grained wood effect in several colour ways.
